Supporting our Community
Beaufort Memorial Hospital is the only not-for-profit, community hospital between Savannah and Charleston. We treat anyone who comes to us for care, regardless of their ability to pay. As such, we depend on community contributions to the BMH Foundation to enhance our own services.

Our Priorities
We
recognize we are among the largest employers in the area,
and are committed to being involved in community events.
Since we cannot participate in everything, we have set
our priorities to ensure we meet our strategic goals, and,
at the same time, demonstrate our commitment to improving
the health of our citizens. We participate as sponsors
in:
- The American Heart Association’s Heart Walk
- The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life
(in Beaufort and in Bluffton)
- The March of Dimes TeamWalk
- The annual walk for the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI)
As a member of the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Hilton Head/Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, Beaufort Memorial helps sponsor events of these community organizations. As an employer, we encourage BMH staff to participate in supporting local human service agencies through the annual United Way campaign.
Any other event sponsorships are based on strategic business goals and objectives for the hospital that year. Our budget is set at the beginning of each fiscal year*, and any requests for consideration should be submitted through us using the attached forms by August 1 of each year. Preference is given to projects related to strategic health services focused on targeted communities in our service area.
Event sponsorship requests must be submitted using the attached forms by August 1 to be considered for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins October 1. When funds are available, preference is given to health-related organizations serving targeted communities in our service area.
Beaufort Memorial Hospital does not consider contributions
to individuals, for-profit organizations, political causes
or candidates, religious or fraternal organizations, or organizations
already receiving our support through the United Way campaign,
or programs not focused on our service area.

Anyone soliciting contributions or sponsorships must complete a “Contribution Request Form” and return it to us by mail or fax prior to August 1 of each year. If a request is approved, you will be notified by mail by early October. |
