About Us

Supporting our Community

Beaufort Memorial Hospital is the only not-for-profit, community hospital between Savannah and Charleston. We treat anyone who comes to us for care, regardless of their ability to pay.

Our Priorities
We recognize we are among the largest employers in the area, and are committed to being involved in community events. Since we cannot participate in everything, we have set our priorities to ensure we meet our strategic goals, and, at the same time, demonstrate our commitment to improving the health of our citizens. We participate as sponsors in:

  • The American Heart Association’s Heart Walk
  • The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life
    (in Beaufort and in Bluffton)
  • The March of Dimes TeamWalk
  • The annual walk for the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI)

As a member of the Beaufort Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Hilton Head/Bluffton Chamber of Commerce, Beaufort Memorial helps sponsor events of these community organizations. As an employer, we encourage BMH staff to participate in supporting local human service agencies through the annual United Way campaign.

Any other event sponsorships are based on strategic business goals and objectives for the hospital that year.

Beaufort Memorial Hospital does not consider contributions to individuals, for-profit organizations, political causes or candidates, religious or fraternal organizations, or organizations already receiving our support through the United Way campaign, or programs not focused on our service area.
