What to bring
- Emergency contact numbers.
- Copies of advance directives/living wills.
- Comfortable pajamas or gowns.*
- Bedroom slippers.
- Your own pillow.
- Your current medications to be recorded
upon admission.
- If you take any medicines regularly,
you should put them in a bag and take it with you to
the hospital. The
nurse needs to know which medicines you are on to make
sure that you don’t have any harmful interactions
with your new medicines. As soon as your nurse makes
a note of all your medicines, ask a family member or
friend to take them back home. The
hospital pharmacy will provide all your medicine during your
stay. This gives added safety, and assures you receive
what your doctor prescribes
- Pen & notepad.
- Books, crossword puzzles or needlework.
- Toiletry
items & cosmetics.
*You can’t always wear them right away, but, once
you’re able to, you may be more comfortable in your
own clothes.
