Breast Care Coordinator

A registered nurse with more than 20 years of patient care experience, Ronda O’Connell is Beaufort Memorial’s Breast Care Coordinator.

Ronda O'Connell, RN
Ronda O’Connell, RN
Breast Care Coordinator

She knows that healthcare is often fragmented and disjointed. Having served area patients at Beaufort Memorial Hospital for the past 16 years, Ronda understands how to navigate the healthcare system and communicate with staff and physicians to get the best results.

She will work closely with you and your physicians to ensure that treatment instructions are followed appropriately. She can facilitate scheduling, provide pre- and post-operative planning and education, and can even coordinate follow-up care.

Making Connections

Most women are connected with Ronda through their physician at the time of a diagnosis, while others will meet her after they’ve had surgery. Self-referrals are also welcome.

At the time of a referral, Ronda arranges a personal consultation to understand your needs, provide relevant information and resources, and determine how to make the whole experience more comfortable, understandable and manageable.

Depending on your particular needs, Ronda will:

  • Schedule appointments in a time-efficient manner
  • Communicate with your doctors to enhance patient care
  • Help you understand your diagnosis and your plan of care
  • Coordinate treatment schedules convenient for you
  • Provide educational information to you and family members and/or friends
  • Make contact with you throughout your treatment
  • Identify resources and make appropriate referrals
