Volunteering

About Volunteers

Our volunteers are a vital part of our hospital staff, providing a variety of services to our patients and assistance to our employees.

Volunteers have been serving Beaufort Memorial Hospital from the day the hospital opened its doors on May 1, 1944. In the beginning, there were only a handful of them, known as the “pink ladies.” By1980, the staff grew close to 100 volunteers, and today we have more than 100 dedicated adult and junior volunteers who give their time to help our patients during their stay at BMH.
